Zhodnocení současné situace v chovu anglického plnokrevníka a dostihového sportu v České republice
Sedláčková, Nikola
This bachelor's thesis on the topic "Evaluation of the current situation in the breeding of English thoroughbreds and horse racing in the Czech Republic" is prepared as a literary research. The work is divided into three parts. The first part deals with the history of the English thoroughbred breed. The breed is further defined from the point of view of its exterior and character traits. The second part is devoted to the breeding of the English thoroughbred, it deals with the development of breeding in our territory, its beginnings in the Napajedla, Albertovec and Mimoň stud farms. Subsequently, the current situation of English thoroughbred breeding in Krabčice, Střelice and Vlachovice is described. The last, third part focuses on horse racing. The history of horse racing is discussed in detail, which is followed by a description of the horse racing system, the horse racing rules with the participants in the horse racing operation and the horse race tracks that are currently in operation. At the end of the work, the situation of horse racing in the Czech Republic is summarized.
Analýza chovu anglického plnokrevníka a výkonnosti dostihových koní narozených v letech 2006 až 2010
Janků, Michaela
The diploma thesis is focused on the history and current situation of Thoroughbred breeding, its use in racing and the characteristics of the racing system. The practical part contains an analysis of breeding in the Czech Republic between 2006 and 2010 and subsequent statistical evaluation of the factors such as sex, suffix, period (date) and year of birth, in relation to general handicap (GH) and earnings, in horses born between 2006 and 2010 in flat and steeplechase races. Horses that had shown up on the racetrack at least once were selected for the analysis and we tracked their careers from 2 to 10 years of age. The data were statistically evaluated in the STATISTICA programme. Statistically highly demonstrably lower profits have flat horses of Czech origin CZE (17 464 CZK) compared to FR (70 898 CZK) in 2-year-old horses. Also, the performance of Czech flat horses CZE (53,8 kg) is statistically conslusively lower compared to FR (64,6 kg), GB (65 kg), GER (62,3 kg) and IRE (64,3 kg). 3-year-old flat horses CZE (24 316 CZK) have statistically demonstrably lower profit than horses with suffixes GB (151 767 CZK) and IRE (115 628 CZK). Statistically highly conclusive differences were between horses CZE (52,2 kg) and horses of American origin USA (79,2 kg), GB (70,7 kg), IRE (70,9 kg) and GER (65,8 kg), statistically significant conclusively with Polish horses POL (61,1 kg). In the category of 4-year-old and older flat Czech horses, geldings (56,2 kg) had statistically more performance than mares (53,3 kg) at 4 years of age. The birth year had an impact on the performance of 5, 6 and 7 year-olds, with statistically significant differences in 5 year-old horses between the years 2006 (62,4 kg) and 2010 (50,2 kg), 2007 (59,3 kg) and 2010, 2008 (58,8 kg) and 2010. When evaluating the results of 3-year-old and older Czech obstacle horses, we found a statistically conclusive difference in gender performance between 4-year-old, 5-year-old, 9-year-old and 10-year-old horses. Statistically conclusively differed the gain of mares and geldings in 4 years – mares (59.1 kg), geldings (62.2 kg), then in 5 years – mares (60.7 kg), geldings (63 kg). 9-year-old mares (59.6 kg) had lower performance than geldings (67.7 kg), in 10 years geldings (70.9 kg) again had higher performance than mares (56.2 kg). The effect of sex on profit was statistically different in 9-year-old horses, where the difference between mares (CZK 27,818) and geldings (CZK 107,965) was significant. 10-year-old geldings (CZK 119,285) had statistically more demonstrably higher profit than mares (CZK 5,782).
Porovnanie plnokrvných plemenných žrebcov pôsobiacich v ČR podľa výkonnosti potomstva
Tomková, Kristína
I chose the topic of comparison of thoroughbred breeding stallions operating in the Czech Republic according to the performance of the offspring mainly because I would like to point out the competition ability of Czech breeding stallions in Czech breeding despite a large number of imports from turf developed countries and thus even stronger fathers compared to those who managed to get for the Czech breeding, because I was myself curious about the overall balance of selected breeding stallions. First of all I dealt with the characteristics of the English Thoroughbred, where I began the very beginning of the breed, from the three founders through the first sports use to breeding and use today.
The history of horseracing in the Czech lands
MYSLIVCOVÁ, Petra
The graduationthesis deals with the history and development of racing in the Czech lands, especially since 1839, when the Racing Association was founded. To understand the context, the history of racing in the world from its beginnings to the present is also included. The author draws on available literature, periodicals andarchives. He source also from interviews with witnesses and people who are or have been involved in events related to horse racing sport in our country. The aim of this work is to bring the origin and development of racing sport closer to the reader in connection with the historical events of Czech history. The text part is complemented by a number of related photographic enclosures with captions.
Zhodnocení významu plemeníka Scyris v chovu českého teplokrevníka
Kubíková, Zuzana
The aim of this diploma thesis was to evaluate the significance of the stud horse Scyris in the breeding of the Czech Warmblood. To evaluate the stud horse we used his offspring born in the years 2011 to 2016. Two underlying databases were then created in the programme Microsoft Office Excel 2007. The first was used to assess linear regression and the second to assess correlation using the Pearson correlation coefficient. Escalation of the linear regression and the Pearson correlation coefficient was carried out using the statistics software UNISTAT 6.5. All of the data entered in the underlying database were acquired from the website of the Association of Czech Warmblood Breeders. From the total information obtained about stallion 6062 Scyris (POL) it is evident that he was most favoured by Czech Warmblood breeders in the year 2013. Furthermore, it was determined that there is a higher percentage of colts than fillies among his offspring. When monitoring exterior variability in 14 daughters that have been assigned a class and their dams, we recorded the minimum, maximum and mean values of the basic body measurements both numerically and graphically. On the basis of aggregate statistics from these measurements, it can be stated that the dams are unbalanced in exterior terms, and stallion 606 Scyris (POL) did not succeed in balancing out this variability in his daughters. In the next step, the correlation dependence of individual body measurements was assessed in daughters and dams. It was determined that there is medium correlation dependence between the attributes KVP (tape withers height), KVH (stick withers height) and Ohol (cannon bone circumference), so it can be said that the influence of dams on the bone mass and withers height of daughters is probable but is not conclusive. With the attribute OH (chest circumference) low correlation dependence between dams and daughters was recorded. This suggests that the dams have a lesser influence on the bulkiness of daughters, and that stallion 6062 Scyris (POL) has a refining effect on the build of his offspring. When assessing the linear regression, we recorded a decreasing tendency of the regression coefficient with regard to offspring class which exhibits 16% reliability and according to our test emerges as statistically conclusive. So the assessed class of daughters of the sire 6062 Scyris (POL) does not improve but on the contrary, it decreases slightly. A high value for the downward trend was recorded with the jump index of the dams and is documented by 21,66 % reliability. Our test emerged as highly statistically conclusive and we can conclude that the mares mated with stallion 6062 Scyris (POL) are of relatively low quality in performance terms. Our final step was to analyse the colouring of offspring, where it was determined that grey colouring was present in 58 % of the offspring. On the basis of an evaluation of the dams and offspring, it was concluded that stallion 6062 Scyris (POL) carries a heterozygous set of alleles in the G gene, which influences the grey colouring of horses.
Analýza úspěšnosti koní českého chovu na rovinových a překážkových dostizích
Grézlová, Šárka
The thesis deals with the development of races, the history of races in the Czech Republic and the characteristics of the racing system. The practical part contains the development of racing system in the Czech Republic in 2003 and 2018, as well as the statistical evaluation of the factors influence (gender, age, suffix and a start year) for handicap and earnings. When evaluating the results of the 3-year-old horses in flat races has been statistically proven significantly and statistically lower performance of horses with different suffix in 2018. Those performances related to horses evinces the CZE (57.42 kg) with lower performances than GER (78.79 kg), and the earned profit differed significantly between horses CZE (23,286 CZK) and FR (83,099 CZK). Furthermore, it has been proven that the profit in 2003 had mares (CZK 41,395) significantly lower performance than stallions (CZK 155,579). When evaluating the results of the older horses on planes, has been statistically proven, that horses with different suffixes had statistically and significantly lower performance in 2003. There were horses CZE (54.77 kg) with a lower performance than GER (77.00 kg) and in 2018 statistically and significantly a lower horse performance of the CZE (59.96 kg) and FR (73.00 kg). When evaluating the results of the older horses in jump-races has been statistically proven that horses with different suffixes statistically and significantly lower profit in 2003 had horses CZE (25,487 CZK) than GER (345,587 CZK) and in 2018 has been found significantly lower performance of mares (65.82 kg) than geldings (73.84 kg).
Chov anglického plnokrvníka na Slovensku
Tomková, Kristína
The aim of this thesis is to highlight the breeding of Thoroughbred in Slovakia and to prove that these horses are also capable of competing in horse races, as nowdays most of the owners of the race horses prefer purchases from abroad – mainly from Germany, France and Ireland. There was also a need to emphasize the issues related to the funding of horse breeding, lack of breeding stallions and lack of breeding grounds. The thesis also focuses on a specific comparison of the best Slovak bred horses with the horses imported from abroad. I have observed the development of the future racehorse from birth and weaning followed by integration to the herd, training and preparation for the first race. Horse breeding in Slovakia can not be considered groundbreaking, but we have everal decent racehorses in Slovakia and abroad as well. The interest of Slovak owners and breeders in the horses bred in Slovakia is unfortunately decreasing.
Analýza dostihového provozu v České republice v posledních 20 letech
Šudáková, Barbora
The diploma thesis "Analysis of horse racing in the Czech Republic in the last 20 years," deals with the history, origin and the performance testing of the English Thoroughbred. It also describes the beginnings and evolution of the races, the division of the races, and, last but not least, the racing system in the Czech Republic. The experimental part of the thesis evaluates the development of horse racing in the Czech Republic and statistical evaluation of the influence of sex, color, country of origin and year of the start of the horses on their performance. The data used in the thesis come from the database of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic. Horses chosen into the analysis are 3 years old animals running flat racing in the years 2000, 2008 and 2017. The data has been processed and statistically evaluated in the programme STATISTICA 2012. Racing performance was determined according to the so-called handicap (GH) and values of classification. A statistically conclusive influence on the performance of horses have sex, year of the start and the country of origin (the suffix). It was found that mares (54,86 kg) are statistically clearly worse than geldings (59,35 kg) and stallions (65,23 kg). In the year 2000 sex was statistically inconclusive, as opposed to the year 2008 and 2017, when stallions were statistically better than mares and geldings. When testing the color of the horses on their performance it was proofed that it has no effect. The only deviation showed up in the year when color came out statistically relevant. Tests done by the country of origin showed that the horses from the United States (52,79 kg) are statistically worse than horses from the UK or Ireland (67,19 kg) or other countries (68,27 kg). It was proofed that the quality of performance of the three-year old flat horses is getting better towards present.
Vliv tréninkového zatížení a dostihového sportu na pohybový aparát koně
Škulavíková, Ivana
This bachelor’s thesis describes effect and problems on a musculoskeletal system of a horse caused by overtraining and horse racing load. In firts part the thoroughbred horse is characterized, his history and horse racing, which has a context with the thoroughbred horse. Next part of this thesis deals with a daily preparation and training of the thoroughbred horses for racing. Description of a muscule and skeletal system is important part of this thesis too. In a next part we can find text talking about typical injuries of musculoskeletal system caused by wrong training load and wrong excercising of thoroughbred horse, how exactly wrong training cause injuries, how do they show up and how is it able to prevent of an injuries. In last part of this thesis we can find statistics of injuries in USA, analysis of morbidity due to horseracing track, horse’s age and distance of races.
Vliv korektorů na chov moravského teplokrevníka
Sedláčková, Ida
The bachelor’s thesis called “The Influence of Correctors on the Breeding of Moravian Warmblood“ analyses the current population of F1 generation and the situation in the breeding of Moravian Warmblood. In the introduction part I focused on the tree of the breed Moravian Warmblood and its correctors of the English Thoroughbred and Shagya-Arab. For the practical part I used the platform database of 216 horses F1 born from 2004 to 2017 which fulfil the criterion - one of their parents carries 20 and more percent of the original Austrian-Hungarian genes, itself is not an F1 or corrector and the other parent is English Thoroughbred or Shagya-Arab. I divided the horses into several categories which I compared to the real state of the breed Moravian Warmblood. Based on the platform database, it appears clear that the breed correctors are not popular with the breeders. Currently, up to Dec 31, 2017, 261 Moravian Warmblood horses had been listed in the stud book of Moravian Warmblood. Those horses are mentioned that were born in the time when Moravian Warmblood had already been acknowledged as a particular breed, it means just after 2004. Out of this number, just 30 horses are the F1 generation. As a corrector of Moravian Warmblood, much more popular is the English Thoroughbred than the Shagya-Arab. As for the breeding, 7 mares of the English Thoroughbred have been used (14 descendants of F1 generation), 5 studs of the English Thoroughbred (11 descendants of F1 generation), 2 studs of the Shagya-Arab (4 descendants of F1 generation) and just one mare of the Shagya-Arab. Next I found out that just 6 horses of F1 generation have the proven sports performance.
